Flagstaff Lodging discounts

Hello!
Been lurking for a while. Can be on these board for hours reading such great advice. Thought I would give it a try!
Will be in Flagstaff, AZ Aug 22-25. Taking my son to NAU.
Looking for any hotel/motel discounts that anyone is willing to share.
Thanks! K

Just received this e-mail, no obvious discounts offered, but if you explore a little, you may find some We go to Flagstaff a few times a year, haven't found too many discounts. YMMV

I've been to Falgstaff last year and got a nice deal on PL for Embassy Suites. Worth to give it a try. Good luck.

Thank you! I think I will be doing PL. I have both the entertainment book coupon and I see I just got a PL coupon in my account.
I know Flagstaff is not a hopping place to visit, but glad some have experience there anyway!

Flag is definitely a hopping place to visit and almost anytime. In summer a lot of vacationers are going there or somewhere near (Grand Canyon) and the university brings many like yourself almost year round. Phoenix residents escape the heat there in summer and ski in winter. Traffic can be surprisingly heavy. This is why hotels are not all that cheap there. Priceline is your friend. Consider Sedona as well...not far away.

If going there for a university event (e.g. orientation week), chances are every hotel room in town will be booked by others doing the same thing, so might be wise to book early. Not much other accomodation within an hour's drive, and Sedona while quite nice is usually more expensive. Having to stay in PHX might become the cheapest option, and that is a long drive daily.
