738 J - IFE now that tablets arenít provided.

Now that VA is removing the free tablet for use for IFE in J on the 738, sure most of us all have our own device but it was great to save your phone battery on an 3-4hour flight.

What is VA going todo to make up for this? Free wifi vouchers for J passengers on International routes operates by 738?

That's a shame as the large screen was a big upgrade over watching on a phone. But yeah, I don't see battery life being a problem as there are charging points available.

I rode SYD-AKL & AKL-BNE last week on the 738 in J. Both had Samsung tablets available for use.

Did you have to request them or did they just give them to you ?

I flew business AKL-OOL last month and they were in the seat pocket in front. Did not see what the go was in economy.

As far as I know they've never been available in economy.

Not actually bothered by it as I only used them to play on once or twice but otherwise I use my own devices. Flights are short haul so it doesn't feel like any great loss.

Is their IFE still incompatible with MacBooks?

I'm in J NTL-BNE-PER next week.
