Virgin Seating

Hi all, I'm a newbie here, and I am hoping this is the right place to post this question. I recently booked in a long haul flight from LAX to Sydney, and I noticed when I went to pick my seats that a bulkhead seat toward the back of the plane was available. It is seat 40D. Could anyone who has taken this flight and possibly sat in this seat let me know if this is a good choice? I want to be as comfortable as possible and I think that the extra legroom will be nice if it is available in this area. Here is the seating map for reference:

Thanks to anyone who can help!!!

The link you have posted from SeatGuru suggests that 40D is a *less* desirable seat, doesn't it?

The plus is that no one reclines into you.

The negative, as Im a tall person, is that you are restricted by the bulk head in stretching out although you might be able to stretch out your left leg into the aisle during quite periods.

When I sit in J bulkhead, after a couple of hours my knees get achy because I want to stretch out.

If I had to fly Y, I would pick the bulk head and walk or stand/stretch occasionally, anything over having someone recline into me.
