Baggage Allowance Question
Hi. We are flying VA (using DL award) AKL-SYD-LAX. The SYD-LAX leg is in Business Class but there was no Business award space available for the AKL-SYD leg, so it is in Economy. Short-haul international Economy allowance is 1 pc @ 23kg; long-haul international Business allowance is 2 pc @ 32kg. Am I wrong to expect long-haul international Business allowance for both legs? (It's a connection, not a stop-over.)

Being a single ticket and on the one carrier, the most generous allowance for the journey normally applies.
What allowance shows on your e-ticket?

And that would be your answer.
On tickets to/from the US, which this is, US law requires that the cost, if any, for the first and second bags be listed on the e-ticket receipt. What you see on the receipt is what the agent will see when you check in.
