Delta Platinum on VA from LAX - Lounge access
I'm a DL Platinum travelling LAX to SYD.
I would get lounge access to the *A lounge as I am travelling in J but would I get access to the First Class section due to platinum reciprocity with VA?
Thanks.

As VA platinum and DL Gold, does any one have any advice for family lounge access (2 adults plus 2 kids) flying DL Lax to Syd?

7 visits for me; 4 Escorted to the First Lounge, twice pointed to the door and once I had to ask -much apologies followed with the latter.
Most recent visit was one with the escort.

I'm pretty sure that DL status doesn't count for anything for lounge access in international terminals on VA metal; DL status is good for access to DL- and VA-operated lounges only. I know for sure that DL status was not good for access to the T3 VX lounge at LAX when VA flew out of T3 and it is not good for access to the NZ lounge in SYD. Therefore, I doubt that you'll have (or had; I know this is an old query) DL status-based access to the F lounge at LAX.

VA Plat is top VA status, equivalent to DL Diamond. DL Plat is equivalent to VA Gold. For the most part DL Platinums can expect VA Gold privileges (although occasionally IME, staff confuse DL Plat with being equivalent to VA Plat).

One guest, plus 2 kids (11 years old or younger).

DL elites will NOT get contract lounge access at LAX, either, if flying VA metal -- only VA elites get that.
The VA boarding passes are pretty clear, if you have elite status from a partner airline it says something along the lines of "Partner Platinum"
The DL boarding passes are less clear.. VA Platinum used to show DL PM VAXXXXXXX
On board, they will have the remarks specifying the airline in the manifest

Why on earth are you talking about what VA elites get when flying DL? That has nothing to do with the question. It's just making everything confusing. This thread is about DL elites flying VA.
It's very simple. As I already said, DL Platinum is seen by VA as VA Partner Gold. You get the same benefits as VA Gold when interfacing directly with VA. I was answering a question about flying VA domestically, and so all interactions would be with VA.
Partners are different, VA partners (that they don't share with DL) usually only accept VA status. Pretty typical in the industry; DL partners (that they don't share with VA) will only accept DL status too. That's why I said 'for the most part', but in context, partner flying was not relevant.
DL elites flying VA metal do get Skyclub access at LAX. There's just no VA or DL lounge at TBIT, and Emirates, VA's LAX partner lounge, doesn't have an agreement with DL so no DL elite access. As I said, very typical, if a VA elite flew a DL flight ex-AMS, KLM wouldn't accept their VA status either.
Yes, and if you are a DL Platinum, your VA BP will say PARTNER GOLD

Do DL golds get Virgin Australia lounge access on domestic itineraries? I thought no, but this thread kind of makes it look like yes. Specifically, DL.com says: (2) Lounge access is available with a same-day boarding pass for international travel
In my exact case, I'll be inbound to Sydney in KE F ("same-day boarding pass"?) connecting on a separate ticket to VA Y. I'm a DL gold. Do I get lounge access?
