Promblems changing Virgin domestic "Flexi" fares bought with 10% discount codes

I guess by now most people buying domestic VA tickets would be using one of the 10% discount codes, see below. Some are corporate codes but others are unrestricted, for example there's currently a 10%-off code being distributed by Europcar to all their mailing-list.

However if you are planning to upgrade the sector, using points or a cert, you need to buy a flexi fare - which turns out not to be flexible. That is, the online flight-change-page works ok but demands you pay back the 10% discount as there's nowhere to re-enter the discount-code.

Causing that awful sinking feeling as you realize you are going to have to call the ghastly Virgin-Australia-call-centre.... no, it's probably better just to pay the 10% back, lesson learned
