Status Match
Do anyone know if Velocity will do a Status Match from another Frequent Flyer program?
Thank you, |
I haven't heard of any, but even if they did, you would need to have an address in one of the countries listed in the terms and conditions to be a member:
5.1.1 An individual is eligible to become a Member if: (a) they are an individual resident in Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Cook Islands, Vanuatu, Tonga, Solomon Islands, Samoa, Christmas Island or Cocos Island; https://www.velocityfrequentflyer.co...htm#membership If you had friends or relatives in those you could use an address for that might work. |
Velocity has offered general status matches in the past, and I believe they sometimes give them to people who ask nicely and give the impression that they're going to actually become regular customers in the future.
So if you are indeed moving to Australia with your United platinum status then it might be worth sending them an email explaining your situation. |

Whether anyone has done it _recently_ is a different question... |
I did it back when they publicly offered a status match (2012 I think). I tried again recently and got a polite email saying if you want it then earn it. Fair enough!

Sent them our UA 1K cards a few years back, and they comped us to Platinum, and we have earned it ever since.
Smart move for both of us. I have near 2000 SC on my account right now. . |
