This sounds pretty normal to me. The reason is: for maintaining status, the credits since the review date count. However, for getting higher status, the credits over the previous 12 months count (rolling system, which makes it easier to move to a higher level).

They are since the review date. I.e. I made gold, then made some flights. It was showing correctly before the changeover. Am sure it'll be fixed soon.

It's fixed now, and correctly showing the points towards retaining Gold.

I've noticed that you cant redeem velocity points for VA's international partners online now? eg Delta / Emirates etc... Does anyone know if this is permanent with the new system as this seems a step backwards?

I've never seen parters come up before on the reward flights. Not even NZ on TT, so wouldn't call it a step backwards. And by Emirates do you mean Etihad? Emirates is a Qantas partner.

Delta was never available online but Etihad used to be. I am pretty sure it's just teething issues that make it hard to book right now. On the upside Virgin America award inventory appears to be available under the new system and it never was before (that i can remember anyway).

DL, EY and VX (I think) all used to be available online - I booked an EY flight for myself and a DL flight for my uncle all online...VS was the one that always said call to check availability.

But now I can't see anything besides VA and VA codeshare flights...In fact I almost find the site unusable at the moment.

Until this morning whenever I went to the main VA homepage it wanted to offer me reward or any seat awards only, it wouldn't let me just book a normal revenue flight - looks like that's been resolved now though.

yes sorry i meant etihad.

Ive booked reward flights online at velocityrewards.com.au several times for Delta.

examples being BNE-LAX-LAS on one ticket with velocity points.

Ive also been able to just book internal delta US flights with no Aussie origin.... but now if you click on Redeem>airlines it says you have to call to book reward flights for anyone besides Virgin Australia and Virgin Samoa.

Anyone had any luck booking partner award tickets over the phone yet? I've tried twice in the last week and I keep getting told that "It will be fixed soon"

Still missing sectors from 13/1. My status credit total differs from status credits earned since the review date (neither are right). Some of the status credit in the total appears to be from mileage that hasn't credited.

I'd say there's still some work to do there.

Managed to call today and get an SQ flight booked. They said until today there were unable to do it.

They had some drama seeing the inventory at first but they came through and sorted it all out for me in the end. Things are looking up!
