Velocity Points for EY flight long haul Mel - YYZ

HI, I have around 100,000 velocity points which i can use on partner flights.
I searched on Velocity webiste and i can book a flight from MEL to AUH ( abu dhabi ) but it wont let me book flight from Abu dhabi to Toronto on EY.

Has anyone ever done it. Can i use my velocity points to book for a flight which is not shown on velocity website and operated by Etihad.

I dont wanna fly to Canada on VA and Delta via US.

I would appreciate any help from anyone with some knowledge about it.

You can only use the Velocity points for VA flights. EY only accepts their own miles for both an award ticket and upgrade (or cash of course)

Hmmm, then maybe you can only use it on selected routes. I know out of Brussels, we are unable to use Velocity points for upgrades or award flights.
Please let me know what their answer is.

Call them and ask. Not all options are available on line.

As for Brussels - we booked a one way J award flight from BRU to MEL on EY through VA earlier this year with no problem whatsoever. Not sure where the idea that you can't fly from BRU came from.

You can not use Velocity points for upgrades on non VA metal though.

Then they must have changed the award flights option. But as for upgrades, it's still not possible I believe. But then again, we actually don't have a lot of Velocity members on Brussels bound EY flights... So it's kinda rare when we do actually have a premium VA member, let alone one who has award tix.

Off topic, but I couldn't resist, but your nickname must be one of the most original I've ever seen qwertyuiop
