Based on what you paid in taxes I'd say they booked you roundtrip. A one way US booking would be around $1k USD by itself.

the 50% rebate requires booking on VS metal using VS miles. Have to run some math to see if it's worth it without a transfer bonus and miles rebate.

I did, they couldn’t really give me a straight answer, oddly. Shall call again.

Ugh yeah that is the problem with this offer because if you cannot get a straight answer from VS then we are just going to have to watt until a data point comes in from somebody who has actually done it which may be a while.

Likewise I’m now wondering if the 50% rebate is paid out on a qualifying flight that was missed as a no show🤦‍♂️ ? I think it depends on how the rebate is issued, is it associated with the redeeming (redemption) account or the flight itself, in which case it would be returned to the traveller and the flight would need to be taken.

Update: Called to ask re. the above, they couldn’t give me a straight answer and just advised to wait a week or two and see what credits.

I’m guessing it’s still too early in the day however has anyone travelled and received their rebate yet?

Just checking, has anyone received their rebate yet? 10 days since completion of travel and nothing.

It’s not been straight forward at the other end. No rebate as of yet and simply advised to email customer care.

Has been 28 days since you travelled? I recall the Ts&Cs stating that you will receive the rebate up to 28 days after you’ve completed your travels.

Yes, 28 days since the outbound, albeit not the inbound

Likewise mine posted today, finally, 30 days after the final leg was flown. There must be a monthly swipe across for these.

Also, I received the rebate for a third party booked via my account, was unsure if they or in fact either of us would have received the rebate.
