Clubhouse tightening access to ridiculous levels
Clubhouse denies me entry yesterday. I had used VS points to book a business class flight LHR-AMS which obviously was a KLM flight. Reservations told me I had access as I was FLying club gold. I was not.
ridiculous that I worked hard for status to get clubhouse access and booked my ticket on VS and it shows under trips but they wouldnt let me in.

glad someone else can read the fine print. My problem is that I made a virgin reservation using virgin points for a business class flight. And KLM flights are now out of terminal 3. They should let reservations paid to VS in. I didnt say the rules werent there. I was just told the strictness is new as there are too many gold members now.

that is my issue. Bear in mind the VS agent that booked me believed the same thing. A VS reward ticket would qualify regardless of airline if you were Gold.

Why are there so many more gold members now? Compared to when? Just curious.

Makes no difference that you booked it through VS and using VS points. It's a KL flight.
If you have a complaint it's that the phone agents gave you incorrect information. You should contact VS about that.

Worse, this link https://flywith.virginatlantic.com/g...rt-lounge.html excludes VS Golds period! So good to see the above link in that regard.
The OP would have had access to the T3 No1 Lounge as explained on AF/KLM websites.
I can also see why the VS agent might have been confused when seeing the words 'travelling with us' and assuming that exact phrasing included VS sold reward flights ex-LHR. Why not instead just say flying on VS or DL planes ex-LHR?

OP, perhaps confidence was the killer, perhaps not, I wasn't there. I have misread entrance rule to VS lounges as well(arrive JFK, not from LHR but flying SkyTeam business from PRG) but when they nicely explained this to me, I said I understood but it was like going from Gucci to Kmart (SkyClub), they made a one time "exemption" for me and allowed access. A little sugar can go a long way!

So am I reading the rules correctly, as a Delta Skymiles Platinum Medallion card holder, can I bring my g/f in to the LHR Lounge with me when flying on VS back to SFO next month?

.... and yet, the above link seems to exclude VS Golds travelling UK-US on Delta metal (which can't be right).

Since this thread is sorta related to my question:
Is it true SQ Krisflyer Gold members still get access when traveling on Virgin Atlantic, even in Coach or Premium Economy? I'm a OneWorld Emerald too, so if I wouldn't get access then sadly I'll have to pick BA over VS :'(

Virgin Atlantic: Virgin Atlantic Clubhouses, when departing on Virgin Atlantic. This benefit does not extend to any guests or travelling companions.
