Delta changed the award flight booked with Virgin points - can I reschedule?
Hi, I booked PVG-SEA (Delta One) flight in Aug with Virgin Atlantic miles before the devaluation. I just received a schedule change notification from Delta that the direct flight is now routed to Detroit first and then Seattle. Based on the current situation, I do not think I will travel in Aug so I am wondering if I could reschedule this flight 10/11 months out into 2022 without additional miles (considering the devaluation of Virgin points on Delta) and fee. Or, my only option left is to cancel this reservation and get miles redeposit to my account (if so, do I have to pay the cancelation fee ($50)). I prefer to reschedule to a later time (without additional miles) if possible. How likely this will be? Anyone has similar experiences on changed Delta Flight booked with Virgin points? Thanks.
