Cash in the sale to HNL. Cancelled DL leg. Called back by a supervisor. Now awaiting someone higher.

Next step is CEDR action IMHO

Link is to a "How to"

That's BA only. Do you know of a version for Virgin?

No, but the steps will be the same.

You've actually done steps 1-3

Just need to get back to Virgin and tell them you will go to CEDR as a next step. and ask THEM what documentation they have to progress this

They have a Complaints page

Also their version of EC261.
With this bit
take an alternative flight to your destination, under comparable transport conditions and where seats are available, at a later date
No mention of 21 days!

BTW
Maybe an idea to post a brief synopsis on HfPoints in the Chat forum tomorrow to ask for opinions as I a no expert.

Couldn't you take the refund and either gamble on prices coming down for the Autumn flights (surely likely if they are Ł3K), or do an ex-EU to bring down the cost if they don't drop ex-LHR?

I've recently gone down the MCOL route with them. They didn't respond to the court papers so I've got a default judgment against them. They've got a few more weeks to pay or face bailiffs or high court enforcement officers. Seems very Ryanair-esq to let things play out this way, I'm not sure why they think a default judgment best serves their future.

You're assuming it was intentional. With VS, I'd assume cock-up instead of conspiracy. Likewise, if the courts are serving notice via physical paperwork, I wouldn't be surprised if nobody has even seen it.

It's now being passed around customer care. Seems like it's a game of who is going to blink first 🤔

LHR-SEA has all of six seats booked on my date in April, four of them mine in UC. I am skeptical it will operate, may find myself having similar conversations to postpone it?

Flights to the USA still seem to be operating though on a reduced schedule, so you may have to cancel as opposed to wait for VS to do so.

I see this is operated by Delta so this may make a difference.

When is your flight?

VS have been notifying passengers of cancellations about 10-11 days before.
