Flying Club points are now Virgin Points - and they don't expire

As of today, 24th September 2020, there has been a re-branding of Flying Club Points - they are now know as Virgin Points.
It is fully explained on the VS Website here - https://www.virginatlantic.com/gb/en...club/news.html

At first glance, apart from the points never expiring, I can't see much difference, but time will tell on this.

I'm waiting on the "bad news to follow" that feels all too common these days...

All sorts of marketing advantages to being 'points' instead of 'miles' - in terms of earning and spending (from their perspective)...

500K 'point' awards do not sound nearly as unobtainable as 500K 'mile' ones - a lot more flexibility to devalue earning and spending IMHO.

Likely easier to sell a point program than a miles one.

Hmmmm, likewise I smell an ulterior motive or reasoning for this...

Sorry for reviving a really old thread. This is the most recent one I can find regarding Flying Club points expiration. I just want to double check that points previously earned through flying VS prior to the rebranding/revamping of the program no longer expire regardless of activity. TIA.

My understanding is that, as long as your points were valid on 24th September 2020, then they now have no expiry date.

If they had expired before that date, then the new system won't resurrect them.
