  • Connecting passengers from its Northern home in Manchester to the US & Caribbean
  • Seasonal regional services from Glasgow and Belfast to Orlando
Virgin Atlantic has announced its flying programme for Summer 2021 with services operating from London Heathrow, Manchester, Glasgow and Belfast.

As countries start to lift travel restrictions and demand for travel begins to return, it is expected that Virgin Atlantic will steadily increase passenger flying in the second half of the year, with a further, gradual recovery through 2021.

In 2021, Virgin Atlantic intends to fly to 24 destinations around the world on a modern fleet of wide-body, twin-engine aircraft comprising of A330-300s, 787-9s, A350-1000s, as well as A330-200s before they retire in early 2022 as planned.

Juha Jarvinen, Chief Commercial Officer, Virgin Atlantic commented: “As the Covid-19 crisis stabilises and demand gradually returns, we are looking forward to welcoming our customers back and flying them safely to their favourite destinations. We have taken the opportunity to pause, reflect and reshape our 2021 flying programme looking at efficiencies in our fleet and connectivity across our network, to ensure it is fit for the future, flying to the destinations we know our customers love to fly.

“We’re delighted that our popular Tel Aviv service, which launched in September 2019, will now increase to double daily, whilst regional flying from Manchester, Glasgow and Belfast will continue to play an important part in offering choice to customers and connecting UK travellers to Orlando, Barbados, New York and Los Angeles.”

Our summer schedule begins 28th March 2021.

Flying from London Heathrow:

Antigua
Cape Town (Seasonal operating until April 2021)
Hong Kong
Los Angeles
New York JFK
Shanghai
Atlanta
Delhi
Johannesburg
Miami
Orlando
Tobago
Barbados
Grenada
Lagos
Montego Bay
San Francisco
Tel Aviv
Boston
Havana
Las Vegas

Seattle

Flying from Manchester:

Atlanta

Los Angeles
New York JFK

Flying from Glasgow:

Seasonal services to Orlando

Flying from Belfast:

Reduced seasonal service to Orlando
Tickets due to go on sale from 16th May. Will be interesting to see how the frequencies are across the routes vs what was planned with a larger fleet in summer 2020. Not too many destinations seem to have fallen off the list. Boston and Las Vegas have dropped off from Manchester, with London to Newark finished, as previously announced.

I note that nobody has replied to this. Just because they announced these departure dates and destinations doesn't mean they will be flying all those routes. Plus the vague announcement from the UK Government that people flying into London for example will have to self quarantine for 14 days but we have no idea when that might be. I have a difficult situation and mentioned this before but was advised to wait until they cancel to even consider getting a refund, but based on the OP's info my flight could actually depart. There is no way we would, could, be going on June 5th(Mia-Lhr) return 30th or require a voucher for another time as unfortunately due to extreme health issues with my wife(which have unfortunately worsened) cannot see her being able to manage such a long trip even if things improved. This was going to be our last trip to the UK anyway and quite a few years in planning as booked Upper Class(Z class) About 7K in ticket prices that's a lot of money for us to lose. I believe if her health was better would have booked for next year and hoped that the Virus thing had calmed down.

Anyway, I will still wait in hope for a cancellation as its only about three weeks away now and trust that they will email us. If not, I was thinking of writing to them(vaaclaims possibly? so somewhere else?) and explaining the situation to them and hoping for understanding and they might refund us or am I whistling in the wind? Any thoughts what you would do in our situation? Again would love to visit another time, but the reality of whats happening health wise makes this nearly 99% impossible in the future.

Virgin have added their LHR-MCO service into their schedules - am trying to find out exact timings and details for LHR, MAN, GLA to MCO for both winter and summer. The Clubhouse is going to be busier when the new service starts to operate.

I think this is normal, flight only bookings are usually only available 11 months in advance.

That’s a significant reduction in seats to Mouseland, but I guess that was to be expected. Let’s see how silly the prices get. Will sure miss UD 744s 😢
