Amex -> VS points offers?

Amex -> VS points offers?
Sorry if this is in the wrong thread. Do Amex ever offer special rates to transfer points to VS above the usual 1:1? How does one get alerted to such offers if they exist?

Yes they do. About twice a year they do a 1.3. You might want to wait for the KLM Blue transfer offer, the taxes and points needed for the same flight are way lower. SFO-LHR booked with VS 77500 and about $650. KLM (same flight) 72000 and $200.

@roberino - I think @porterhouse is US based and talking about a US card. Nowadays, these offers are practically non-existent on UK cards. They've done Hilton and Marriott in the last year or so, but I can't remember anything on an airline for years.
