Liat flight on Virgin ticket cancelled- what to do?

A relative is to due to land BGI (Bridgetown) soon but their connecting flight onto SVD (St Vincent) with LIAT is cancelled. Indeed all flights for today are cancelled due to the weather at SVD. What assistance will Virgin offer? Will they provide accommodation?
(I have posted a similar thread on the BA forum but I have 2 relatives on 2 different flights BA and VS)

Not my area of expertise, but the obvious question is - are the flights on one ticket or separate ones?

This is cross-posted to the BA forum. Apparently others in the group booked on BA. But the same answer applies to VS as to BA.
