Virgin flight aircraft type October 2020 flight

Hi All,

i’ve got a LGW-MCO flight in October 2020 - Manage my booking not active yet and can’t search on expert flyer for the seat map so have no idea what the aircraft type will be. Could someone please help me out and advise me if it will likely be an A330, A350 or 747?

VS15 leaving gatwick @ 13:00 is our flight.

It'll be a 747 - all the VS flights from LGW-MCO are operated by 747-400s.

The A340s will be gone soon but the 747s will be around for a little while - one of their main replacements will be the densified A350s. As of right now they're still showing the 747 on the MCO route as of next July (I have a few of those booked,) and some family on the 747 to MCO at Christmas.

Just realized you said 2020 rather than 2019! It's a bit harder to say but as above they're still showing a 747 through to the end of next summer. If not the 747 it will probably be an A350 but it's too far out to know yet.

Just found this article from yesterday and came here to post: https://simpleflying.com/virgin-a350-florida-caribbean/

Isn’t clear on when the last 5 will be delivered.

Great timing!

So yes, I'd be very surprised if it wasn't a 747 even next October. VS fly a lot of 747s to MCO so until the A350s arrive they have nothing that can match the capacity.

And when I say "a lot," I arrived at MCO last summer to see 4 other VS 747s parked at MCO in addition to the one I was on!

Was shocked when I read that VS only has 8 744’s. Majority of the fleet is at MCO most afternoons.
