None of the VS A340-600 Upper Class seats are geared towards a couple situation. You can sit behind each other or get a pair that angle towards each other a bit but not enough to have a conversation or really look at each other.

Conversely though, regardless of which seats you choose, one of you can sit on the foot-stall seat and talk/eat face to face.
