Yeah -- was looking online, seems ANA is only one way booking!

How far out can you book ANA award tickets using VS miles. ANA makes awards available 354 days out. Is this possible or are we limited to VSs 330 days? Thanks

This is answered several times upthread.

(The answer is "very near zero".)

Just learned this the hard way and found your post. I booked SFO-NRT-SFO F using expertflyer to find ANA availability and it all worked as expected. I just called to change the return out by a few days and they said not available, even though expertflyer shows available. Will monitor with UA now. I feel lucky to have gotten it the first time around.

Thank you for confirming my observation.
Sorry you have to learn the hard way.

I don't think that it is possible, but would love to hear if somebody managed that?

Just booked 2 tickets in F ORD-HND for a total of 240,000 miles and $169.

Edit: Should have mentioned that I asked if open jaw flights were allowed and was told no.

Can I book ANA from ORD -BKK with one single ticket? I called in and they said I have to spend mile for 2 separate portions. First is ORD - NRT 120K in first then NRT - BKK 80K in business.

The agent was likely wrong. You are allowed connections in Japan as long as that connection is less than 24 hours. Given that you can connect to BKK same-day after arriving from ORD, you need to call Flying Club back and try again. This can be booked on one ticket.

If your connecting flight is not available the same day you arrive in Japan and you have to travel the next day or later after staying overnight in Tokyo, then you could be forced to purchase 2 tickets instead.

I had booked JFK NRT, NRT LAX before. YQ was $178 (total taxes/fees $216.70)
This is a few years ago, so maybe things have changed.

Just looked 2x first class ANA SFO-NRT roundtrip 11/2017 - 12/2017. As expected 220k miles total and 186. Took quite awhile for everything to confirm, glad we can stop worrying now.
