A330-300 UC now 1-1-1

A330-300 UC now 1-1-1

Hi,

They changed my flight form the 789 to a 330 but when I look at the seat plan shown in "reserve a seat" they show a 1-1-1 configuration (not the 1-2-1 I find when googling it).
Is that a glitch or real?

I've just checked the booking I have for UC, next month and the seatmap of the VS UC on the A333 still shows the 1-2-1 config.
The only thing I can think of that will explain what's happened is that somehow the wrong seatmap is linked with the actual booking. Looks like the seatmap hasn't been updated according to the new type of aircraft.

With all the weird system issues that is possible.
But the swat map shown when I chose my seat isn't resembling a 789,747,340 either ....
Row 1-10 a and k and 1-11 for g

The A330-300s are being reconfigured to a 1-1-1 layout in Upper Class during 2017. The suites are being removed and replaces with the UCS2 suite that's currently on the 787-9s. All in all a change for the better I think many would agree.

If your seat map is showing that config. then VS must be expecting to operate your flight with a reconfigured aircraft. Keep an eye on it though as there's always the chance it could change to a 1-2-1 config. or even a different aircraft all together.

Liked the look of the 789 layout and would have not liked a a330 1-2-1 layout but with a 1-1-1 it should be similar.

With all the terrible IT woes at the moment its hard to say with complete certainty whats actually going on.

It could be incorrect. It could also be correct as the A330's are going to a 1-1-1 config with the UCDS that's installed on the 787. The only time you'll be totally certain is when you are sat in the seat taxiing for take off!

But which side will face the wall?

Its either A or K of course but reading threads here and on vFlyer its appears thats its not confirmed as people are sure about both sides facing the wall! One will and one wont.... Does anyone know for sure and or is there an image to double double check?

Secondly, when travelling as a couple on the new layout does anyone have any thoughts to what might work best for chatting and the like? And lastly the bar it appears is at the front according to the seatmap, do people choose seats further back for night flights or is the volume kept down?

Looking at BGI in october.

According to v-flier the A row faces the wall and the bar is in the back.
Having the wall on the A side makes sense to keep the aircrafts "the same" look and feel
think you might have to hunt for trip reports an v-flier and ask for pics (personally I have not seen any).

Is there any update on the schedule for the A330 re-fits to the 1x1x1 configuration in UC?

I'm on an A330 late summer and the online seat map shows 1x1x1...

If you google it some pages state that Virgin plans to be done for the Summer 2017 Schedule

That would be quick. Hated the equipment change from a 789 to the 330 at least the 1-1-1 setup makes it OK > would have cancelled the 1-2-1

My seatmap for end of July just changed back from 1-1-1 to 1-2-1

FWIW and probably subject to change, my early September A330 flight remains 1x1x1 in Upper Class...

I believe first A330 is already undergoing retrofit so it would make sense to see some future bookings already showing 1-1-1 layout.

Make sure you keep an eye on your 1-1-1 as it is possible it will change to a 1-2-1, this seems to be happening to quite a few people. It also completely split up my party, I have managed to get us all back together but the cabin was filling up and there wasn't a lot of choice, so I would proactively check relatively often.
