Power Outlets in UC

Hi, I'm hoping to get a definitive update from one of the regulars here re power outlets in the UC suites.

I have trawled both this forum and the web generally and seem to find conflicting comments about the type of sockets used in UC, the adpaters required, and the availability of said adapters onboard.

I can't afford to get caught out so any recent experience to help me prepare (if I need to) would be really helpful.

I am flying LHR-MIA and am currently scheduled to be on a 747 out and a A340-600 coming back.

Many thanks,
EB

Since you're on the "old" UC Suites (anything that's not an A330) it's a standard "EmPower" socket.

The A330's have regular power outlets now.

They *do* have adapters onboard, but with varying "tip" availability for different laptops. If you have your own EmPower adapter, take it along.

I've never noticed the outlets on the A330 in UC, where are they?

Thank you so much Preiffer. Based on your advice I have been able to pick up some cheap Empower to USB leads so I am all set.

Thanks again,
EB

The designers, who obviously don't fly themselves, placed them between your feet at ankle height. Of course, the moment you stand and forget about the cable, you upend everything on your table .

It's true that they are poorly located on the A333. After plugging my laptop in on my last flight I pretty much needed to see a backdoc.

:) But WHERE are they?

Where is the EmPower plug located? Is it by the floor?

They are on the floor at the front edge of the seat, between your legs.

No - the EmPower plugs are located in the magazine holder, underneath your entertainment system to the side of you (waist height).

Only the NEW power sockets (standard) on the A330s are located by your feet.
