Elevate Gold crediting VX flight to AS - T-24 F Upgrade?

Elevate Gold crediting VX flight to AS - T-24 F Upgrade?
Hoping someone can answer a quick question for me - I'm an Elevate Gold member but I've recently been crediting my VX flights to AS as I'm planning on eventually moving travel to them once VX disappears.
I've got a flight booked in MCS and I'm planning on trying for an F upgrade 24 hours out with my Elevate Gold Status - will this work if I have my Alaska FF# (with MVP Gold) assigned to the flight rather than my VX one? Anyone have any experience with this?
Since I can't change the FF number online I'd like to find out if I need to contact CS to have them change it before the flight (in December).
