TWU fails in attempt to unionize VX

· 324 or 59% voted no to TWU representation

· 223 or 41% voted yes to TWU representation

I wonder if they will try again next year. The unions have been very aggressive at the LCC carriers. B6 and VX seem to be the biggest targets.

Great news for those who like FAs who are really nice to passengers -- a strong suit for VX. You see that on the legacy carriers, but much less often. I think much of that difference stems from unions.

Interestingly enough, Southwest's employees are unionized. I think the noticeable attitude difference stems more from whether a positive attitude toward others was part of the hiring qualifications.

That's a very good point. SW manages to have good labor relations even though it is unionized.
