eleVAte points when upgrading

If I buy a ticket in the main cabin and then upgrade to first class on the day of departure, do I get eleVAte points for the extra money I paid? I did not find anything about it on their site.

Nope, you get eleVAte points based on the fare price you paid, they generally don't offer them on any of the excess charges such as bag fees and upgrades.

Or any surcharges or taxes at all...

I had wondered the same thing after the first time I bought a walk-up upgrade, and when no points posted after several more walk-ups, came to the same conclusion. And, considering this, it's part of the trade-off of being able to buy the walk-up at what is normally a considerably reduced fare relative to buying F at time of original booking.
