RED system on a TAM plane?
I was admiring Virgin America aircraft pix on Airliners.net and came across this image: http://www.airliners.net/photo/TAM/A...214/1244234/M/
the caption suggests this is a former Virgin America plane, I'm curious if TAM got to keep the RED system or was it gutted beforehand? --Russ |
more images of the same plane: http://www.airliners.net/search/phot...nct_entry=true (including shots of the VX livery)
it was their first A320 --Russ |
I don't believe it had Red installed. It was sold outright to TAM (not leased), as I recall.

VX is selling planes? Did I miss something?

I think this was while they were seeking DOT approval to fly. Someone on this forum should know the real reason. |

N623VA and N629VA are both leased by VX, and sub-leased to TAM (account the initial delay in startup).
Neither plane is VX's to sell..... |
well the reason I asked, as you can see in the pictures the plane was parked on the tarmac at SFO in full Virgin America livery.
I'm assuming that since it was delivered to VX it had the RED system installed, but I could be wrong. Now its flying with TAM colors on it, so did anyone change the interior? --Russ |
