VX entertains delayed pax

This is so Virgin:

Why this may be of interest to is that the Virgin America gate crew has begun entertaining the crowd with games of craps and three-card monte, both with loud play-by-play over the PA system.

This makes me think that perhaps they should integrate Virgin Casino with Red?? Oh wait, aren't online casino's illegal in the USA? I wonder if it would be ok on a flight to LAS?

I think you might have left something out.

With a few exceptions, the people waiting for their flight are not amused.

Sorry, I don't believe it happened.

Yeah, I have only seen the one report so far... I guess you can't believe everything you read on Google News :D

-- It is a little hard to believe they had a craps table just sitting around the gate area..

I haven't seen craps and the like, but I have witnessed a trivia contest with a coupon for a free drink on board, and that wasn't during a delay, just a normal before departure thing.

FYI - VX encourages it's gate agents to create memorable experiences while guests are waiting for their flight, so anything is possible.

I can tell you what did happen on Sunday at SEA for my slightly delayed (20 minutes) SEA-LAX flight. The gate agents held a paper airplane contest, and the winner was awarded a free drink/movie coupon.

I'm not totally sure how I feel about shenanigans at the gate, but the staff were certainly a refreshing change from the usual dour airline employees. ^
