New VX eleVAte brochure?
 

When I was at the counter at SFO yesterday, I picked up a one-page brochure about eleVAte. I don't think it has *much* more info than we already know, if anything. It has instructions on it to fold it into a paper airplane. I searched here and couldn't find it mentioned. Here are the sentences that are written on different parts of the paper airplane:

Correct me if I'm wrong. The highest airfare is $699 one-way for first class transcon. $1400 RT*4 is $5600. A transcon RT is $300. This means points are worth $.054. How would this compare to other FF programs?

I wonder if the program final plan will soon be anounced soon?

Free travel could even be a one-way SFO-LAX flight after 4 return trans-cons, which would make the points worth even less. Then they wouldn't be much different than UA :D, but UA makes up for their stinginess (E+). I wonder what Virgin Atlantic points are worth?

Would it be too optimistic to expect that the free flight would be in the same class and route? This would make them worth around $0.125 each (single award), or even $0.25 each (return award). A 12.5% award/discount doesn't sound too far fetched, but I doubt it'd be 25%.

I wouldn't be too surprised if Virgin just went for a simple (and generous) 12.5% award as their FF program (similar to Southwest's). Although they do have the ability to offer things like free Internet etc for members with status, which would be enticing for frequent/business fliers.

I hope they come out with some info soon.. the suspense is killing me. Although to be honest, I don't fly Virgin for the FF program ;)

Oh, I assumed the points would be like a RR or TB reward where it can be used anywhere in the system. I hope that the program does not have the yearly expiration, I don't fly enough to get a ticket if they did that :(.

same here. how strange not to have details of the FF program in place, while AS is offering some good promos to fend of VX coming to SEA.

The "as few as" four round trips section interests me. I generally fly transcons and have used UA, but I would love to make the switch to VX after a couple of flights.

From a strict miles standpoint, I can earn a free roundtrip on UA after five flights, give or take a few miles. However, I sometimes use miles for upgrades. I hope VX will incorporate something like this, too.
