Question on meal service SFO-EWR

I realize that all flights are now AS, but this question pertains to a flight on a VX aircraft, redeye flight SFO-EWR (AS 1182 last night)... I splurged a little to put my great aunt up in first class since it is a long flight and knowing that VX first has been rated as one of the best first class domestically (I've never flown it myself). Well as someone who would complain if you started handing her hundred dollar bills, I wasn't surprised at all that all she had were complaints about the flight stating that she didn't sleep a bit, didn't eat nor drink, didn't watch a movie, didn't recline her seat, etc. But I was surprised that she said that there was no dinner served and the only food offered to her was a hummus plate (which as you could probably guess, she hates hummus). Is this accurate? The website stated that there was a 'dinner' in first, so did she actually sleep through it?

It is listed as D . Since it is so late at night, could have been abbreviated service. She may have ended up with the protein plate as the other food option may have been selected already. It is just my guess, only way to know for sure would be to chat with FA in F and find out what happened with catering.
