To clarify, this references the standing conversion rate of 1 VX Elevate point to 1.3 AS Mileage Plan miles.

After 12/31/17 there will be no more Elevate plan to earn Elevate points with.

Can SPG points still be transferred to Virgin Elevate then onto Alaska for the 30% bonus. I don't see Virgin Elevate on the SPG partner airlines

Thanks

Just seen partnership ended in Jan.

Instead, SPG has decided to focus its partnership on Alaska Mileage Plan and end its partnership with Virgin America’s Elevate program.

This means SPG members will no longer be able to earn Elevate points on hotel stays, or directly transfer Starpoints into Elevate accounts after January 6, 2017.

SPG members will be able to use Starpoints to travel on Virgin America by transferring Starpoints to Alaska Mileage Plan miles and redeeming them for Virgin America flights on alaskaair.com starting January 9, 2017. Furthermore, SPG members can continue to transfer Starpoints to Alaska Mileage Plan at a 1:1 ratio - and earn a 5,000 bonus miles when they transfer 20,000 Starpoints to Alaska Mileage Plan.

I wonder what happens for partners that take a while to post points. If your transaction date is before the cut off but the posting date is way after, would you still get the points?

Reading the FAQs you will earn points on "original" VX partners (Emirates, Singapore and Virgin Australia) until 9/30, even if they take a while to post. If they don't post you will probably have to request them from VX, but that is also the case today.

hmm...it doesn't exactly saw where credit card spend comes into this. But I would assume end of the year since you are still earning VX miles for each dollar. Seem reasonable?

Since Elevate ends 12/31/17 I'm guessing CC spend for points stops then; although Alaska has moved faster with this acquisition and before year end is possible. I've been putting some spend on the card for elevate status bonuses, and those have posted like clockwork.

For sure not expecting anything after 12/31/17.
