Why no flights LAX-HNL 1/10/17 - 4/30/17
 

Noticed that there are no flights from LAX to HNL between 1/10/2017 through 4/30/2016. However, they have flights from LAX to OGG and there are flights from HNL to LAX all the way out to June 2017. Strange... Why no flights from LAX to HNL most of January 2017 through the end of April?

What dates have HNL-LAX?

ALL dates are available HNL-LAX so its strange no availability from LAX-HNL from Jan 2016 to April 2016. So the planes fly back empty or they are used for LAX-OGG flights? Strange indeed.

I did a cursory search, but I don't see the HNL-LAX flight operating on any of those days. What's the flight number that you see?

I see HNL-LAX flights for everyday until the end of July 2017 right now. Flight 50 HNL-SFO and Flight 948 SFO-LAX.

Computer glitch I wonder? Maybe they decided no one wants to go to Hawaii in the winter.

So they're not running a flight from HNL-LAX then...

Correct - only connecting. Still not sure why this is the case.

Odd question, but if I'm reading this right there are three outbound flights (1) and four return flights (2). Anyone know what they're planning to do in terms of equipment/crew rotations, since for obvious reasons it makes very little sense (as far as I can tell) to run an outbound flight empty?

The LAX-HNL is a myth. LAX-HNL appears bookable, but in reality the offerings are all connecting flights involving LAX-SFO.
