Does Virgin America have an iphone app ?

Can find Virgin Australia and Virgin Atlantic

No, not at this time.

Despite the initial glitches, I find the virginamerica.com site works fine on my Android tablet and Nexus 6 phone with Firefox for Android. There is no Android app either.

If accessing the site on your iphone, can you send the boarding pass to Apple wallet ?

Yes. There is an Add to Passbook button on the boarding pass once it's displayed. Works like a charm.

There is no Virgin America app and they have been widely criticized for this while touting being a "hip" and "trendy" airline.

Now with that said, their mobile site accessible from any device is really good and very functional.

While an odd omission (not having an app as such), the website is basically designed to be used via mobile device. My best guess is that they decided "The website is usable via mobile phone, no need to code an app that would just be the website all over again.

great, but i cannot figure out how to email myself a boarding pass.

Looks like either you print it on paper (?), or not at all

In my experience... when you do your online check-in on the Elevate website, your flight entry will have a "Add to Passbook" icon that you can click on to send it to Apple Wallet on your iPhone. This usually happens 24-hours or so before your flight.

I hope this answers your question, if you're trying to load your boarding pass in Apple Wallet.

I don't have an iPhone. Samsung Galaxy S. No options there? If not, the airline is seriously behind and you would think complete opposite

I don't know whether there is anything available for Android OS that is similar to Apple Wallet/Passbook.

If there isn't anything similar on Android, it's hard to fault VX if the platform doesn't support it.

Every major US carrier (DL, AA, UAL, SWA, JB) has had a mobile boarding pass option that allows any mobile device to be used

So only "faulting VX" as they dont seem to be keeping up with technology thats been used since the late 2000's

I believe you can view your boarding pass on any mobile device. You don't need to email it to yourself, just login to the vx website. If you don't want to rely on an airport connection, you can screenshot the bp on your phone beforehand.

Not as good as Apple passbook but workable if you just want to use your phone instead of carrying paper boarding passes. VX's lack of tech support (website problems, no app, etc) is disappointing.

thx Finical. However, i tried every method I could think of. The only option presented online was "Print Boarding Pass", I never saw an email option, only an email option for receipts or itinerary.

I mean short of printing it on paper, and taking a photo of the piece of paper, thats the only saw I could see how to do it, and that of course would defeat the entire purpose.

I still think I must be missing something very basic or obvious.

Have you tried clicking/selecting the "Print Boarding Pass" option on your phone? On a desktop/laptop, it will display the bp as well as bring up a window for you to print. I would think on a phone it'll still display it. I don't have any upcoming flights to test it out though.
