Same Day Changes
 

Anyone have any experiences with same day chances on VX? I see there is a fee involved for confirmed changes. Just looking to see if anyone has used this.

There's no change fee charged within 24 hours of booking. Only the difference in fare.

You can confirm at the airport for any flight same O/D the same day (on the same) for a fee ranging between $25 and $50 depending on the length of route.

i was unable to SDC on a VX flight because i booked my flight through Chase Ultimate rewards. Have other ppl experienced this? I didn't know about this previously

What airport was this? They were uninformed and lying to you. SDCs are permissible on any confirmed ticket -- reward or not.

It was at the LAS airport. The VX counter people said I had to call Chase Ultimate Rewards travel to change the ticket because they couldn't change on their end.

They were probably treating it as a normal ticket change, which they're not supposed to do with agency-booked tickets. Same Day Confirmed Changes are different though -- they cost less and are designed to be done only at the airport. Travel agencies can't do them, and that includes the VX call center. Once you're at the airport, the ticket is in the airlines hands and they can do what they want. If you're flight got cancelled, for instance, they would rebook you and be able to change it themselves. They wouldn't ask you to call Chase. The same logic is true for SDCs.
