Mysterious number(s) in US passport?
Hello all, I've inspected the numbers in the machine readable zone of a US passport and all is pretty clear except the last number on the second line.
As you may know, there are 2 lines of 44 characters. On the line number 2, the digits 22-42 contain optional "personal code" or whatever the issuing country (US in this case) wants to put there.
In my case and in this exact place, there are 2 numbers (9 and 4 digits) that I have no clue what they are. They are not my previous passport number, nor my SSN, nor anything else I can think of.
Does anyone have an idea what these numbers are? And it is really not the passport number (that one is on line 2 between digits 1-9).
