US Passport book wont stay open

I've never had a passport book just stay open. They are stiff. Why would you think something is wrong - didn't yours come that way?
I suppose you could open it to the desired page and leave a heavy book on it so it would stay open to that page...

I suspect what is occurring here is that [notice]danielonn[/notice] is trying to take a photograph of his passport data page, but he has nothing there of sufficient weight to hold it open while he snaps. 
He needs to find something heavy enough to hold it open around its edge without obscuring the data thereupon.
