Which US airports require face coverings? And which do not?
This is a query about airports, not airlines. The major carriers, I believe, all require face coverings during flights, and of their employees when at work.
This query is prompted by a flight from JFK to GSP yesterday with a connection in CLT. JFK, and all other NYC airports controlled by the Port Authority, require face coverings of anyone using their facilities: https://www.panynj.gov/port-authorit...s-updates.html As far as I could tell everyone at JFK was wearing a face covering. CLT and GSP seem to have mixed policies, but the commonality is that both do not require passengers to wear face coverings. It appeared to me that about 50% of the passengers in the terminals at CLT and GSP were wearing face coverings. CLT did not respond to my specific query about face coverings of employees or tenants. I noticed some workers at CLT without face coverings, so maybe they are not required. GSP requires masks if its employees, "information center representatives, maintenance and facilities, police and fire departments and airport administration", but only "encourages . . . business partners, such as airlines, ground transportation companies and restaurant and gift shop operators to adopt similar policies." So, which US airports require face coverings. And which do not? |

Does LAX require it? I'm flying into and out of LAX next month. I hope they do require it.

Not in any way arguing with the above post, but just because ORD and MDW came up, I thought I'd mention for those who may be wondering - they are both requiring face coverings in the terminal.

It helps to look at some of the earlier posts to see how our COVID prevention policies and attitudes have evolved over this year (although some people's behavior has not). I guess now this is not even a question anymore.
