In the past, its usually been for people who have filed taxes before, on Social Security etc.. They've also in the past not given checks to people who owe child support etc, and instead sending the check to the guardian of the child. As one who's been paying into the system since my first part time job at 17, I for one do NOT see it as socialism and see it as me getting back a tiny fraction of what I've paid in Federal Income tax. And if you consider the tax that I still have to pay next month, I still owe the government and it is money more than a tax credit.

Wouldn't it require less mental gymnastics to realise that "socialism" isn't something you need to be deathly afraid of...?

Maybe where you live it might be fine, but voter's, myself included, in the Democratic Primaries over the last couple of week have resoundingly said hell no.

1. It’s “realize” (with a z).
2. Yes, socialism is something to definitely be deathly afraid of. It’s infinitely worse than anything this virus could do to humanity.

This has drifted toward the world of "Bad Omni". We'll retire the thread at least until the Federal Government firms up this proposed program.
