Suggestions for a trip to USA

Hi guys,

Planning to go to the states for a visit for the first time around September time probably for no more than 4 days. Planning to go with the gf and redeeming my 241 from AMEX :p.

So, do you guys have any suggestions in terms of which states to go and the attractions that might be worth checking out? Will be going there for the first time :)

Cheers! ^

4 days really limits you to the east coast IMO. Of the major east coast cities, I've only been to Washington DC which I liked very much. There is a bunch of museums on the Mall, all of which are worthy of your time, plus all the memorials and other government buildings you'll have seen on TV.

Won't be driving so will likely be going on tours - was looking at Grand Canyon but there isn't any availability other than Economy to LAS so I guess it will need to be somewhere else :) I checked New York and there is availability - is the JFK airport the main one to land at ?

In absence of more information, there is but one word with which I could respond: SanDiego.

Please buy a guide to the USA and browse the pictures. I think some guides list top ten attractions so you can pick the best for you.

I would go to Atlanta for the Coke museum.

If you only have four days then you'd be looking at the east coast or maybe somewhere like Chicago.

Washington DC is a great city, lots of museums, the National Mall, Arlington National Cemetery and very close to NYC if you wanted to take the train there for example.

Chicago has Lake Michigan, the Willis Tower, the John Hancock Tower, pizza, Goose Island Brewery, Navy Pier and so on. Again, a real variety of things to see and do.

Excellent - thanks for the suggestion guys :)

ATL will almost certainly have Club World availability on the dates you want, last one I checked about 2/3 of the year was available for two or more people ^

I have been all 50. Texas is the best, in particular Fort Worth.

Without a car you are limited to San Diego, San Fransisco, NYC, Chicago, Las Vegas, Boston, DC and Miami really.

Personally I would go to California/Arizona and do a bit of driving either into the desert or down PCH.

With that sort of time frame I would suggest one of the following for walking/taxi cities: Boston, New York or San Francisco.

Even though it's not my thing, I usually throw Vegas in there too but seeing as they don't have flights that fit your needs that's out.

NYC - Lot's of flights so you can maximize your time. And typically nice weather that time of year. If you've never been anyplace else doesn't make a lot of sense with 4 days.
