Cuba and US on the same trip
Hi,
I'm planning a 10 day vacation and was hoping to do 6 days in Havana + 4 days in NY (in that order). Is that gonna be a problem with US Immigration? From what I've learned EVERYONE (not just US citizens) must provide valid reason for travel TO Cuba, since we will be going the opposite direction are we allowed to visit US on the same trip? I'd really appreciate your help on this ! :) |
Your reason is reason #8, "I am going to support the Cuban people". That is what gets you in the door at both ends.

You may not be able to book a ticket originating in Cuba to the US, and you may be required to book round-trip originating from the US. You might look at Canada. Toronto is not that far from NY. |

Yes you will have to fill out an OFAC declaration when flying between the US and Cuba. Even if you are not "persons subject to US jurisdiction" (US citizens and green card holders, etc) you're still within the US and traveling on US flag carrier and therefore subject to the embargo.

Thanks for the reply! I was able to purchase the ticket from HAV to EWR, the question is will there be any trouble on entry to the US? We're flying Europe-HAV-NYC//NYC-Europe.
