India allows you to enter with a valid visa in an expired passport, provided you also have a valid passport from the same country. I know people who have done this.

When you get your expired passport back, it will have a hole only through the cover, not the visa pages.

Thanks

I have a long term multi-entry to PRC visa in my now expired Canadian passport. I just show my current passport and the valid visa in the expired passport since Feb 2012.
