Actually, AA generally does not match. It's a Challenge, now with a fee:

You are correct that only AA Gold (25K equiv) and Platinum (50K equiv) challenges are offered.

w00t!

I just logged in to check my miles and was surprised to find a ton of mileage credits and that I had leapfrogged into Chairman about 4 segments sooner, and with more miles, than I had anticipated.

Good move US!

Welcome to FlyerTalk, macshome, and to the Chairman's Preferred level on US.

I just checked my DM account too, and all 500-min and bonus miles have posted correctly (on a weekend too) . Best of all, it's US under-promising (" to be done by December statement") and over-deliverying (done correctly well before December)

Hope your US trips are as smooth overall as mine have been!

That's true. I actually status-matched her with Northwest after the merger was approved. They gave her platinum staus, but only to end of Feb. She'll take advantage before it expires.

Interesting. I called AA and they offered me a match, no challenge or fee, to Platinum. Maybe because I am a prior elite with them of many years?

My bonus miles posted sometime between yesterday afternoon and tonight.

Strange thing is, the bonus miles are for each segment actual and again for the difference to make up to 500. If both are odd numbers, when it takes half, it always rounds down.

Consider yourself special I'm sure it's happened before and will happen again, but it is unusual. Enjoy!

i got back about 8,000 miles. I just wish they hadn't done it in the first place, because that move caused me to book some flights on other airlines that I would have put on US. I would have made Gold with those flights but instead will stay Silver with about 52 segments for the year.

Guess they saw the light and decline in bookings. I'm sure many havel left for other carriers and won't be returning.
