Will a little less than 100k get me CP this year?

It looks that CP may close the year with 90k miles. What to expect?

"Will a little less tan 100k get me CP this year?" - Original Title

Stay in the sun long enough to get the full 100k. US may not accept those tanning creams/bronzers for Chairman's status. Beside they can turn your hands orange and leave stains on your pillow and clothes.

back in the old days...

I had 98 or 99 flight segments one year and still made Chairman's Preferred (when you needed 100 segments or 100K miles I think). This was after my mileage run flying roundtrip BWI-ORD twice in one day using esavers! Anyway, I called the Preferred desk at the time to ask if I would be eligible for Chairman's and they said yes. I don't know if my calling changed anything (it probably didn't), but that's my story.

Please let us know how it turns out for you.

Why go for CP - What's the benefit ?

At this point, unless you have a high desire to get the worthless TA Certs, why go for CP ? PP gives you everything CP does short of the certs, which considering how much you have to pay for the tix to even think about maybe getting to use one, you're better leaving a day or 2 earlier and spend the nights in a hotel getting up on jet lag in a much more comfortable bad.

Mileage Run

I don't know why anyone would want to be CP on US these days.

Anyway, I once did a mileage run about 6 years ago to reach CP status--it was PHL-FLL and the mileage on the website was more than the mileage that was in their computers to credit the DM account...I was like 8 miles short or something like that and when I called, they gave it to me. That was in the old days--Parker and Kirby would probably make you pay $1000 to make up those 8 miles.
