US Air to Return 7- 737's

At the press conference today, US Air indicated that they will return 7- 737-300's when their leases expire next year.

In the conference call they mentioned that they will be returned in the second half of this year. There will be no obvious impact on the route network however they did mention that you should expect to see fewer frequencies on some routes as a result.

I hope some of the 7 are those real nasty looking ones.

The other fleet-related topic discussed in the conference call was that the long term goal is to have only one aircraft type on the trans-Atlantic market. I wonder if that means the thinner routes operated by 757 are not performing as expected?

Maybe they mean the 787's that are being ordered... at least in theory.
