Yep, supposed to going DCA-CHS, tonight, if it doesn't go it doesn't look like I can go until sat evening at the earliest based on current availability.. Not sure what the issue is as I am told its only raining.

If I can make my PHL-CLT segment tomorrow, but let's say I either miss my CLT-MLB segment or it gets cancelled. If I ask US to send me to any airport in Florida tomorrow instead, 2 questions:

1) Are they going to charge me a fare difference to go to another Florida city even though it's IRROPS?
2) What happens to my checked bags? Will they definitely be loaded onto the new flight? If they aren't loaded onto the new flight, will they ship it to my hotel (in Vero Beach)?

update: USAir rebooked us on AC flights direct yyz-las :-) So, all good!

I was extremely lucky my DCA-CHS made it tonight. The only one it seems. There were dozens of people on the standby list and I think only a few made it.

You wont be charged any type of fee or fare difference, I've been rebooked to different airports a few times without any issue.

They should load your bags onto your new flight but Ive never experienced that myself so maybe someone else can chime in.

Looks like they got most, if not all, of the transatlantic flight bank out of PHL this evening. This does not mean that the Thursday westbound departures will operate, but at least the planes and probably the crews will be there if they choose to try.

Yes, got a cancellation email and then got a new email 30 minutes later basically saying "just kidding"! So lots of worry for nothing!

1. As noted before: no fare diff charged in my experience. Shouldn't be an issue at all.
2. Good luck! I was re-routed PHL-SYR instead of PHL-BUF last month. They said my bag would be loaded onto SYR. I got to SYR & my bag didn't. It was still in PHL. Long story short, the bag flew PHL-BUF-PHL-SYR-PHL-YYZ (BUF sent it to SYR since that was my last segment I arrived at. SYR forwarded it to YYZ since my delivery address was closer to there). After 4 days, I flew to NC (without my bag & US being unable to locate it). After 4 more days, it arrived at my office in NC.

Sitting in LA on US1999, if this goes WX, I'm on a united award ticket in F. Do I deal with US for re-booking or UA?

So as of this writing, http://flightaware.com/live/airport/KCLT/arrivals shows that there have been just 10 aircraft (6 from commercial airlines) that have landed in the past 12 hrs in CLT. More encouragingly, http://flightaware.com/live/airport/KCLT shows a bunch en route.

That said, crews and planes are out of position, and those will likely the main factors in whether you get through there today. There is some snow on the back end of this storm that looks like it'll move through here (PHL) this evening, but hopefully CLT is done with it completely within a few hours.
