Wichita

Have been flying a US/UA Codeshare to ICT for the last 4-5 years, at least... and now it has disappeared from the reservation calendar for 2014 (and I swear it was there last week when I was scouting skeds/fares.)

Haven't had a chance to call the Reservation Line, but the nice people at the USA Club in CLT had no answers....

Anybody share any thoughts?

Many thanks.

I think as of 1/1/2014 all of the UA/US codeshares will be gone. Not just on USAirways.com, but I've also checked GDS and it's gone! LH ones are still there however.

Wow - What A Shame

I guess I wasn't paying attention as this was announced months ago.

Too bad for me - this will have an impact on FF miles accrued and customer service available on the wonderful Chairman phone line (A huge benefit when flying through ORD).

Thanks.

You could still book it via United directly (or an OTA such as Expedia) and you will earn full miles/benefits. Only the code-share is going away. Star Alliance membership isn't going away yet.

Wow this really is a shame. One of my most frequented routes is PHX to MSN but I need to take a UA code share. That really hurts that this isn't available. Now I'm face with the decision to fly to MKE and drive an extra 2 hours (not a huge deal) or fly UA and be guaranteed no upgrade.

How does this change anything? Why would you have been upgraded on a codeshare flight anyway?

Only the flight from ORD to MSN is on UA. The flight from PHX to ORD is on US an upgrade eligible.

I see. Is there a way to book that on one PNR even without the codeshare?

Not without skyrocketing the price.

Just booked two to Wichita for Jan and one to Green Bay.

New alert!! AA does fly out of ORD to a lot of cities. Very soon, US will be slapping their code on those flights.

I saw that tonight on the news. They were very lucky to get that bird off the ground. I wonder if there were some residents on the runway approach, who heard that beast flying overhead, saying "What the $%$#!!!"

I think they would've found a way to get it out even with a lot less runway. What impressed me was they got it out without unloading the cargo. There were apparently 30 kt winds on the nose on departure which kind of means they got more runway "for free" and they didn't need much fuel for the short hop over to where they were supposed to be.
