Using Dividend miles on Qatar airways from US to India

I just got off the phone with the agent on phone, and she indicated that Qatar doesnt allow to book using Dividend miles routing through DOHA. Anyone ran into this issue ?

What's "DOHA"? BTW, Qatar is not in the Star Alliance, so booking with Dividend Miles is not possible.

Qatar is US Airways Divided Miles partner airline, although redeeming has been "temporarily" suspended forever. You can credit QR flights to US though.

When US announced their partnership years ago with Qatar, they had a window of about 3 weeks IIRC where you could actually book Qatar flights using Dividend Miles. Something went wrong and they had to "temporarily" suspend the program

That being said, QR is still a partner and you can definitely earn US DM (non Preferred unfortunately). I recently flew ORD-DOH-HYD and back and the miles credited to my US account without any issues.

All signs point to QR joining OneWorld ... so in a matter of time this "temporary" suspension will likely resolve itself once US is folded into AA (and therefore OneWorld).
