Question about how long miles last

Hi All

I have a bunch of miles I have purchased through US Airways.

I see on their website it says "Since January 31, 2007, active membership status is based on having earned or redeemed miles within a consecutive 18-month period. Miles are subject to forfeiture if no miles have been earned or redeemed within a consecutive 18-month period. "

So if I say bought miles 17 months ago and then go and buy a tiny amount within the next 1 month, I then get to keep all my miles?

As long as within 18 months there is a redemption or an earning -and the earning can be in the form of buying - doesn't have to be flying?

Thanks to all those in the know!

That's correct - any activity will bump the forfeiture date of all of the miles in your account forward 18 months.
