Yes. For now, all UA cash fares accrue at least 100% PQM when credited to US.

You will earn miles but don't expect to be put on the upgrade list. You may be able to convince a sympathetic gate agent to seat you in economy plus, but don't count on that either unless you pay for it. (Fwiw - E+ is really pretty nice on UA. I'm 6'3 and my knees don't even come close to the seat in front of me in that section. Better pitch than US domestic F.)

Why is your boss making you fly another airline? Price? I have noticed that US is recently the most expensive on every route i need. I've made some tough choices to reach Chairmans.

Two things you can count on is earlier boarding and you will get free checked bags. Note UA allows two 70 lbs bags versus US with 3 50 lbs bags.

For now I also have been getting elite bonus, in your case 50%.

You could also fly AA if elite miles aren't important. AA and US account balances will be merged at some point after the corporate merger is complete.

But the benefits to flying UA are listed here (bags, star gold boarding priority). If you want a good E+ seat or even window/bulkhead, you can confirm it online for another $30-$70 or so(the online seat map on UA.com will show this).

Not true. UA gives *G 3 bags at 70 lbs each.

It won't be the end of the world. What you're really missing out on is a potential free upgrade. While AA won't offer you any perks, you'll still get the other *G perks when you fly UA. At least it's not a long haul flight.

If the ticket is confirmed now, and you can justify the cost, go ahead and pay some extra $$ for Econ +(on UA) and/or Main Cabin Extra (if AA offers it on this route). It will lessen the pain...

well at least I get one segment. :::sigh:::
I was surprised to see how you can buy F in AA=--it was my first time on the website.
I hope that changes when there is a merge.

I earn about 40% of my US elite miles on UA metal. I even got Precheck last night flying UA home from DEN.
