I have a little over 60k miles on my mileage balance.(not pqm).

What will happen to these miles once the merger happens with AA?

Would it be beneficial to use these miles to get a first class ticket if I will end up losing these after the merger?

Will using these effect my PQM's?

If I do use these miles to purchase a ticket, will that flight add to my PQM's if I used miles to get the ticket?

Eventually, your ~60k US miles will become ~60k AA miles. Nobody knows when, but it will happen.

The merger won't cause anyone to lose their miles. Use them if you want to use them, but don't make a rash decision about using them based on fear that you'll "lose them" as a result of the merger.

Award flights are not eligible for PQMs, if you use the miles for upgrade you will earn the PQMs the originally purchased ticket would have earned.
