Seating Advice When Traveling with Partner in Envoy Suites?

Hi. Just saw that our pair of Envoy seats disappeared when the 330-300 apparently converted to Envoy Suites. We're now seated on a window side but not even in back-front adjacent seats, though there seem to be plenty of empty seats on the flight (so far).

Would you recommend two seats in the middle, or else seats across the aisle from each other, or just front to back back seats, both on a window side?

Normally, when we travel together, we like to talk and toast etc, but Seat Guru is listing only Row 1 and the window seats in green. If you have flown in Envoy with a spouse or other partner or close friend, what would you recommend? Someone in another post suggested that you can't see out the windows on the window side now, given the way that the Envoy Suite seats are now canted at an angle. Is that true as well? Many thanks in advance for any ideas you have. For this trip, I was actually hoping for the old configuration.

Seat guru lists those green because they are supposed to have a few more inches of leg room for the lay flat, (6'4" vs. 6' - I think). Just flew envoy with my wife and I would suggest that none of the configurations really allow a whole lot of inter-seat chit chat or toasting. best bet is to go for the two middles together - probably less of a distraction to the other pax that way, but the divider is still kind of in the way.

Thank you. My husband is in the over six foot tall category, so that is really useful information, and I somehow missed it in the flurry of pod people reports posted here at the dawn of the Suites.

Two seats in the middle will give you the best chance of talking, but the new Envoy seats are definitely designed more for personal space than talking to a neighbor. The same thing happened to my husband and I last year---I was slightly worked up over not being able to talk until I got in my comfy seat and went to sleep!

Agree with all of above ... the "defect" of Envoy is that none of the spaces are conducive for talking ... with the overall effect that everything is marvelously quiet and comfortable. In terms of length of bed, we are talking 6'4" minimum ; up to 6'8" in 1H. Enjoy.

In echoing above there is no perfect solution for the honeymooning couple. I would probably go with the two middles, but you will need to lean forward past the divider every time you want to see each other or converse. If you would gain greater solace from being able to see one another with less effort you might consider sitting across the aisle. That would allow you to exchange more pleasant glances but less dialogue ;)

While some of the info is a little dated, and it is geared for the A330-200, there's a wealth of info on the Envoy suites (including a couple sitting together) in the following threads:

When I've flew in it, I didn't know until the day prior. It was switch/switch/switch for days, and when we got to the Envoy lounge the agents were trying to accommodate requests for sitting together.
In the end, on the way over, we ended up being on opposite sides (with windows), and given that you sleep most of the way, that worked out fine.
